Introduction
This presentation examines the ways that pediatric surgical advanced practice providers work alongside general surgery residents in the care of pediatric surgical patients at one institution, focusing on how the APP can contribute toward their education.

Alissa Bergstresser
Alissa Bergstresser earned her Master's of Science as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She has worked as a PNP for Pediatric Surgery in the inpatient setting for almost five years. She also serves as Colorectal and Pectus Programs co-manager. She has presented multiple posters at national conferences as well as speaks at local and regional conferences regularly. She presented this lecture, “The Role of Advanced Practice Provider in Surgical Residents’ Education” at the APSNA 2021 Scientific Conference, which was a collaborative work with her colleagues, Dr. Kathryn Martin and nurse practitioner, Collette McGruder.
